Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Video: Sandy/Birdie playing in yard

Yes she is timid but she also knows how to let go and play. This is a nearly daily occurrance at the house. We went to the Centennial dog park this afternoon. She didn't run and play with the dogs but she also didn't cower and she actually walked up to another person. She is a joy and needs to find her forever home.

Same Dog, New Name

I am fostering Sandy again after she was returned due to the owners allergies. While she was gone she was renamed Birdie and is comfortable with that name so that is what we are calling her. She is such a little doll. She's still nervous but is now on doggie Paxil and it has boosted her confidence a little. She loves to lay outside in the shade. You can pretty much do anything to her. I can clip her nails with no problem, i've tried brushing her teeth and she doesnt fight that. She does not like to walk across the laminate floor without rugs and will not venture into the kitchen because of the floor. She is no longer crated. That is another holdover from when she was adopted. She is crate-phobic and would cry and tear up the bedding in the crate but her owner left her out as an experiment and she did wonderfully so I won't make her go thru it again. She was living with a cat so is cat safe. And she has the cutest ears, usually one up and one bent over, and the daintiest little feet.

Adopted

Sweet Sandy was adopted today. I was bad about updating her blog. She is a real sweetheart and a big love sponge. I wish her all the best in her new home.

Observations

We are still working on getting Sandy to open up. She is still very shy and skittish but also very inquisitive. Even while sleeping her ears are almost always up. Feeding time here is not the easiest thing, she would rather try and eat Maggie's food first before her's but after a few strong no's she will go eat her food and then come back and try and eat Maggie's again. She loves to be outside. She has pretty much housebroken herself. Other than 1 bout of diarehha in her crate there have been no accidents in the house. I have never even seen her look like she might go in the house. She just gets up and goes to the door. She is also a rooer but I don't know why she does it. She also isnt a counter surfer but she is a coffee table searcher. She loves stuffies and is starting to play with Maggie. She is a little doll. She will be at Petsmart M&G Sat noon and Borders from 5:30 - 8

Little Miss Sandy

Sandy is a sweet shy little lady. It took her a couple of days to find a bed she was comfortable in. She is a little nervous about everything. Loud sounds make her jump, If something moves and she doesnt expect it she jumps. We turned the ceiling fan on and she wouldnt come into the room. She likes it best when everyone is in the same room together. She loves to be outside and has started to run with the resident dog. She want to explore stuff on the coffee table and the floor with her mouth :) and after five days was just sniffing the xmas tree, but didnt touch anything. She comes when called and stops when told no. No potty issues in the house. I don't think she likes the crate but does go in. We only crated her at night the first 2 nights and on the 2nd night she needed to go out about 3 a.m. and when she came back in I brought her into the bedroom and she's been there ever since at night. She also discovered stuffies.
